Dale Toncrey and Curtis Toncrey are suing Sewerage and Water Board and 18 other companies in an asbestos-related case.
The couple from Mississippi has filed a lawsuit in an Orleans federal court on February 28.
Dale Toncrey says she developed malignant mesothelioma due to her exposure to asbestos for around 19 years through the work clothes of her father, who was a pipefitter for more than 3 decades at Johns Manville, and her husband who worked at different sewerage and water sites where many products contained asbestos.
The defendants failed to provide sufficient protection to their employees and appropriate ventilation in work area, the suit says.
The plaintiffs are seeking damages for all their sufferings and pain.
